Thomas Bachelder has been winemaker at Le Clos Jordanne since its inception and, through cool years and warm, has delivered the consistently high quality product that the winery has become known for. I wouldn't worry about quality declining at Le Clos though - stepping up to the plate will be Burgundy-bred Sebastien Jacquey, who has been working as assistant winemaker at Le Clos for the past three years. A safe pair of hands for sure.
Note to the rest of the wineries of Ontario: now's your chance to up your chardonnay and pinot game... Bachelder plans to offer his services as a consultant.
Read the announcement in the St. Catharines Standard For more backstory on Le Clos, Bachelder and Jacquey, read the update at Tidings.
