Election Special
Albarino Mix-up

Gemtree's Moonstone Savagnin 2008 was poured at an August tasting in Toronto. However, the first bottles of the batch - and the promotional press material - noted the wine as Moonstone Albarino 2008. Knowing that it's not albarino makes the promotional material interesting to read:

2008 Moonstone Albarino
This wine has captured the attention of both media and consumers unlike any other Gemtree wine before it. Released only last month the Moonstone has already been given a big wrap by Max Allen, Huron Hooke, Ken Gargett, and the US Wine Spectator Magazine. It has made the Adelaide Review Hot 100 wines and Jancis Robinson named it as one among only 5 Australian wines, the "most impressive" in a recent tasting in London. A Spanish variety hailing from the Galicia region, it's proving to be perfectly suited to Mclaren Vale's Mediterranean climate.
